LightMedia help publish NHS surgeon mortality rates

As part of LightMedia Communication’s ongoing relationship with the NHS we are pleased to support the publication online of the latest surgeon mortality rates across a number of different disciplines.

These include:

• Adult cardiac surgery
• Head and neck surgery
• Interventional cardiology
• Lung Cancer
• Upper gastro-intestinal surgery (to be published in December 2014)
• Urological surgery

LightMedia has been commissioned by the Healthcare Quality Improvement Partnership (HQIP) is responsible for taking the research data and rendering it into interactive online charts and tables that are displayed on the different surgical association sites. These charts and data have been linked from most online news sites including the BBC and Sky as well as the NHS Choices site itself.

This is part of an initiative that is helping to make the NHS one of the most open and transparent health services in the World.
